This Privacy Policy explains how Bushveld (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information through the GeoSavanna platform and the geosavanna.com website. We operate to the standards of the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
We collect three categories of data:
- Account data — names, work emails, phone numbers, tenant and role information for the people who sign up.
- Telemetry — positions, ignition state, alerts, trips, sensor readings and media submitted by tracking devices linked to a tenant.
- Usage data — IP addresses, device/browser metadata, and audit logs for actions taken in the platform.
3. How we use it
Personal information is processed only to:
- Operate, maintain and improve the GeoSavanna service for the tenant that owns it.
- Bill for usage, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
- Communicate platform changes, service incidents and security notices.
We do not sell personal information, ever.
4. Lawful basis
We process tenant and user data under the lawful basis of contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (to keep the service secure and operational). Where consent is the appropriate basis — for example, optional marketing — we ask for it explicitly and you can withdraw at any time.
5. Where data is stored
Production data is stored on dedicated servers that we operate, with access restricted to our staff. The database is not reachable from the internet, and connections to the platform are encrypted with HTTPS. A current list of hosting providers and sub-processors is available on request.
6. Retention
We retain telemetry, audio recordings and account data for as long as your account is active, so that your history stays available to you. When an account is closed we delete or anonymise its data on request, unless we are required by law to keep it.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal information. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
The geosavanna.com marketing site uses only strictly necessary cookies. The product (app.geosavanna.com) uses session cookies to keep you signed in and a small number of first-party analytics cookies to improve the platform; these are documented in the in-app cookie notice.
